Dr. Bernard Nau 1937-2021
Sadly we must report the death of Bernard Nau, a founder member of the Group in 1961, aged 84.
A quiet, unassuming and intelligent man, Bernie was a stalwart member and contributor for many years. He also had wide interests in other aspects of natural history, including various invertebrate classes; after he hung up his ringing pliers, he often came down to Rye Meads up until the Covid pandemic began to see how we were doing and to pursue studies of invertebrates. Of the nine papers he published in our Reports, the most recent in 2015 for the 19th Report was a review of the True-bugs of Rye Meads.
